Lake Gaston is one of the most

Gorgeous Lake Gaston is between Interstates 85
and 95 and runs along the Virginia - North Carolina border.
As a man made lake, Lake Gaston has long been popular fishing and
water recreation. The lake is not federally owned. Lake
Gaston was formed from impounding the Roanoke River and was
constructed in 1963. Lake Gaston is about 35 miles long and
covers more than 20,000 acres with 350 miles of shoreline. That
shoreline is in both VA and NC.
